Supporting Stanley Park in its Centenary Year

Based in Blackpool, Friends of Stanley Park work to support, promote and enhance one of the town’s most treasured green spaces for the benefit of both residents and visitors.

Friends of Stanley Park are a volunteer-led community group that bring people together through a range of social activities, community engagement projects and visitor information services. With around 150 members and monthly meetings, the organisation plays an important role in helping locals connect with the park and contribute to its ongoing success.

As Stanley Park celebrates its centenary year, the group continues to champion improvements that help preserve the park as a welcoming, attractive and well-kept destination for both locals and visitors. Over the years, Friends of Stanley Park have demonstrated their commitment to the park’s future, including donating £50,000 to Blackpool Council to support investment in the park.

The group was seeking additional support to assist with the ongoing maintenance and upkeep of the park, to help ensure that visitors can continue to enjoy its clean, safe and vibrant environment. Funding would contribute towards keeping the park looking its best during this milestone year and supporting its long-term sustainability for generations to come.

The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme is delighted to support Friends of Stanley Park with a £1000 donation, so the group can continue its vital work of maintaining and enhancing this valued community space during its centenary celebrations. Plans are already being considered to restore the park’s floral clock, one of its cherished landmarks, back to working order.
