A Royal Glasdon Gift for Wyre

In honour of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme gift commemorative Stanford™ seats to three community spaces in Wyre.

To help mark the momentous occasion, the local manufacturer has donated three specially crafted Stanford™ Seats to Wyre Council, through their charitable giving programme. All seats have been incorporated with Her Majesty’s Purple Platinum Jubilee emblem and uniquely crafted plaque.

The seats have been placed in parks and public places across Wyre; Poulton’s Vicarage Park, Fleetwood’s Marine Hall, and Garstang Riverside. It is hoped these seats will benefit the communities and serve as a symbol of celebration and commemoration for many years to come.

Councillor Simon Bridge, portfolio holder for Street Scene, Park and Open Spaces attended the presentation on behalf of Wyre Council for the Vicarage Park placing. He said: “We are incredibly grateful that Glasdon have donated these benches for some of Wyre’s parks. The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee was an excellent celebration and these benches will serve the community for years to come.”

Presenting the seat on behalf of the DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme, Joy Kavanagh, Glasdon Group Director said: “We wanted to gift something to our local communities that would not only help people remember the special occasion, but also provide an opportunity to reflect on the unity and community spirit we celebrated and to take time out to enjoy the open spaces around them.”
