The Great Glasdon Bake Off

It’s that time of the year again, the return of the cake.

From Monday 26th to Friday 30th September, Glasdon staff pre-heated their ovens and equipped with their most vibrant aprons took to their kitchens to bake all kinds of tasty treats in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

An annual event on the Glasdon calendar, ‘Cake Week’ brings together friends and colleagues from all departments to sell and experience each other’s creations, with all the proceeds going towards Macmillan’s fantastic work.

This year featured a smorgasbord of cakes. From cinnamon apple cakes and Manchester tarts to oreo brownies and the classic sponge.

Macmillan Coffee Morning, or “The Worlds Biggest Coffee Morning”, is held every year by people up and down the country to raise money for the charity that provides specialist care, information and funds specially trained nurses to care for patients facing cancer.

Now that the feasting has finished, we’re pleased to announce that along with The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme we have managed to raise a fantastic sum of £700 for the charity.

We’d like to raise a cuppa’ and thank everyone who contributed to this worthy cause, we hoped you enjoyed making your cakes as much as the rest of us enjoyed eating them. Here’s to next year!
