Faith in the Community

Grant provided to Fleetwood based charity for financial relief in the community.

Formed in 2019 by the merging of two local groups, Faith in the Community is providing vital financial support and assistance to the people of Fleetwood.

Their primary focus is to target families and single people facing difficult times following redundancy, illness, debt, adverse changes or a delay in benefits.

The charity channels their efforts through The Pantry, incorporating its two projects – Mustard Seed and The Foodbank.

Mustard Seed provides a hot meal and open house to people in need, seeing on average 50 people attend every Monday evening, additionally the Mustard Seed Shop is open 3 days a week to provide weekly food parcels to over 250 people. Meanwhile, The Foodbank provides up to 35 food parcels per week based on family and individual needs, as well as a place where people can sit and talk to other people.

Operating from a purpose-built facility at the renovated former Fleetwood Hospital, the Pantry delivered 1300 food parcels every week during the COVID-19 Pandemic.

Supplied on behalf of The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme, this grant will allow The Pantry to continue their vital outreach work in providing hot meals, food packages and listening to those struggling in the community of Fleetwood.
