Continuing to Support the EAFA Juniors

In late 2022, Glasdon agreed to become the official sponsor of the England Amputee Football Association (EAFA) Junior Programme, a partnership that would provide child amputees and those with limb-affecting disabilities with the chance to try football in a fun, secure and friendly environment.

Now in 2023 and with help from our sponsorship, the programme has accomplished remarkable feats. The programme has expanded their team, providing a life-changing opportunity for an additional 15 children and their families to join, with over 50 children actively registered on the programme. For the first time ever, the EAFA Junior Programme has seen girls signing up, proudly welcoming nine into their family.

Looking at experiences during this year, 20 children had the opportunity to visit Poland, engaging in a European journey while having a great time playing football with peers from other countries. Back in the UK, they have organised six camps this year, where more than 40 children can join in a safe and fun environment. Additionally, they also launched their online sessions, which see the children come together every two weeks to share life updates, play quizzes and take part in basic home exercises.

We are delighted to confirm that The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme will extend this special sponsorship into 2024, ensuring the work of the EAFA Juniors Programme can continue for another year and securing dates for 6 more camps. We are unquestionably proud of this opportunity to support the programme and look forward to seeing what success it brings in the year to come.

Elaine Oakey, Junior Co-ordinator has expressed her utmost appreciation for the sponsorship and advertising provided by The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme. She has revealed it’s taken immense pressure off them as they have been able to help every person who asks for support. Elaine tells us that the Glasdon name is seen all around the Reaseheath College training ground, along with a spot on the children’s football kits.
