An Egg-stra Special Giveaway For Care & Share
- D.J. Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme
- 01 May 2025
Glasdon shelled out and put all our eggs in one basket to make it a Hoppy Easter for all.
‘Charity Begins At Home’ – that’s the core belief of Care & Share, a Blackpool-based charity that distributes household essentials to locals in need. Dedicated to supporting those facing hardship, the group helps people get back on their feet and sets them on the right path towards creating a lasting home for themselves.
One of the group’s main offerings is a household starter pack – which includes essential items such as duvets, covers, sheets, pillows, curtains, towels, toiletries, and kitchen utensils. This gives families the bare necessities they need to survive in a new home, which would otherwise run up a hefty and likely unaffordable bill.
The group also operates as a ‘baby bank’ to provide parents with baby-related essentials, whilst also hosting free clothes shops several times a month. Not only does this help ease the financial burden on new parents, but it also allows those in need to receive shoes and even winter coats to keep them warm in the colder months.
As Easter approached, Glasdon contacted Care & Share to see if they could make use of a donation of Easter Eggs that could be handed out to children and families in need.
The DJ Sidebottom / Glasdon Charitable Programme donated 50 Easter eggs to Care & Share, to be distributed out by the group. Since then, Care & Share visited Brian House Children’s Hospice, The Harbour mental health hospital, and various other groups and families to hand out eggs, amounting to a whopping 920 gifted easter eggs in total!
Care & Share is open for donations Monday, Wednesday and Fridays from 10:30 till 12:30. For more information, or to keep up to date with the charitable group, follow their Facebook page.
The DJ Sidebottom/Glasdon Charitable Programme provides support for charities and community projects with donations, grants and fundraising initiatives.
