Beary Generous Donation for Multi-Disability Sports Club

Blackpool Bears is a multi-disability sports club that provides the highest standards in sport and support in a safe and fun environment.

There are approximately 1400 people with disabilities in Blackpool, not including the surrounding areas.

The club welcomes those aged 12 and above with any type of disability, along with their parents and carers, every Saturday at the Blackpool Sports Centre on West Park Drive.

Offering a wide range of activities such as athletics, basketball, football, cricket, table tennis, boccia, New age Kurling, cycling with adapter bikes and climbing, it is a great way for those with disabilities to be involved in supported, group leisure activities.

As well as the usual sports activities, it also offers Rebound Therapy which helps with stability, core and strengthens the body.

The club prides itself on its friendly staff and volunteers who keep Blackpool Bears as warm and welcoming for all its members, and team work is always encouraged to help with the social aspect for help to those who may not otherwise get the chance for social interaction among others with disabilities.

Glasdon were proud to donate to the club with the hope that their donation can go towards Blackpool Bears uniforms for its staff and funding to ensure the club has all it needs to keep running effectively.

The club is also looking to expand to a larger scale, and with sessions currently operating with 60 members, funding can help with the ability to hold sessions for even more members.

Blackpool Bears are always on the lookout to reach out to more potential members.
