A Slice of Success this #worldsbiggestcoffeemorning!

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning was back again for another full week of delicious cakes, and Glasdon staff couldn’t wait to dig in!

Putting on their pinnies and pulling out their purses, Glasdon staff baked and donated in support of Macmillan Cancer to raise money for those affected.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity that provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer, as well as helping with the emotional, practical and social impact cancer can have on a person.

With a goal to improve the lives of those living with cancer in the UK, Macmillan #worldsbiggestcoffeemornings are their biggest fundraising event, with donations going towards Macmillan services.

From Monday 23rd September, right up until Friday 27th September, all Glasdon departments held their own coffee morning each day. Selling delicious baked goodies, there was plenty of choice, from rocky road cupcakes, raspberry chocolate brownies, Victoria sponge and banana cake, to Snickers cheesecake and chocolate cookies.

The donations didn’t stop there! A game of ‘Dunk the biscuit in the cuppa’ saw staff trying to place the biscuit sticker in the correct spot to win what was left of the cakes as a prize.

Always happy to donate for a cake (or a few!), Glasdon staff managed to raise a fantastic £446.28, which is the highest amount collected for any of our charity days!

This has been topped up by the Glasdon Charitable Giving Committee to the total amount of £1,000.

A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to this worthy cause.
