Giving in to the Appeal of Giving Back

This year, Glasdon decided to kick off the festive season by helping not one, but two local Christmas Appeals.

In the usual festive fashion, we have decided to help Care & Share and Men’s Shed Fleetwood with their Christmas appeals for 2025.

Care & Share, a Blackpool-based community group with a primary focus on supporting and caring for the needs of the local community, helps provide starter packs for individuals and families who are setting up home. They also operate a baby bank and host weekly free clothes shops to make a positive difference for those in need.

This year, Care & Share have sought help in finding gifts for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18, with items such as toiletry sets, sweets and chocolates, drinks bottles, fluffy socks, and gloves and hats being among the preferred gifts to give.

Men’s Shed Fleetwood, another local charity, provide a safe space for men to talk about their mental health, learn about mental health, and be part of a group and avoid social isolation. Those who join are offered access to a range of activities and facilities to help them stay engaged and feel part of a healthy community.

This year, Men’s Shed Fleetwood are appealing for food items to be used in hampers, with tinned food, chocolates, biscuits, preserves, as well as tea and coffee being among the preferred items to be donated to anyone struggling over the holidays.

We are delighted to have taken part and to announce that we had a fantastic turnout for both appeals. Across the business, our staff donated sacks of presents to Care & Share alongside a variety of food items to Men’s Shed Fleetwood, helping individuals feel appreciated and cared for over the holidays.
